A Hospital Plea
After having spent 4 months in our local hospital
I feel that something should be done
for our hard working nurses.
So come on British Government -
open up your fists and mouldering purses
to give them an extra pound or two.
Not to forget the girl
who brings in our morning cup of tea at seven
Also the the porter who when bidden
trundles us round from room to room in sun and rain
to take us here and take us there
The medical staff who tend us with their skill
when we call upon them to help when we are ill
Give them some generous offers
to help fill their dwindling coffers
The physio's
who midst our snivelling grunts and groans
Try to straighten out
the kinks in our minds and aching bones
To all the dedicated folk
who staff our hospital wards and kitchens too
If I had ten hats
I'd take them all off one by one to you
So British Government let there be
a serious review of hospitals
In recognition of the work
of many of the girls and boys in white and blue
This is a poor but heartfelt thoughts
of one who can not pay
with this,
a badly written contribution
to Ward 3 and all who work within.
